NCEL gets order worth Rs 7,000 crore, Amit Shah says - share it with farmers

Cooperative Minister Amit Shah said that the National Cooperative for Exports Limited (NCEL) has received orders worth Rs 7,000 crore so far. The new logo and website of NCEL have been launched. NCL will ensure that 50% of the export profit information is shared with farmers and cooperative societies.

Addressing the national seminar, Amit Shah said that at present NCEL is working from a temporary office. He is constantly recruiting employees. Apart from this, he has received orders worth Rs 7,000 crore so far. NCL will share the export profits and will also help farmers produce products for the export market.

NCEL will purchase the exported commodities from the member farmers at MSP. After this, it will share 50 percent of the profit from that product with the farmers. This amount will be deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers. Amit Shah also gave certificates to five NCEL members in the seminar organized at the Pusa campus.

In this seminar, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said that the creation of NCEL will boost exports and contribute to the development and rural transformation of the country. This cooperative sector can tap the export potential and promote India to move forward at the global level.

He further says that cooperative societies have to focus on manufacturing quality products that comply with international standards. Minister of State for Cooperation BL Verma, Cooperation Secretary Gyanesh Kumar, and NCEL chief Pankaj Kumar Bansal were also present in this program.

NCEL was registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act on 25 January 2023. It has an authorized share capital of Rs 2,000 crore. Farmers who are interested in export are eligible to become members of this committee.

Its objective is to focus on the export of surplus available in the Indian cooperative sector by accessing wider markets beyond the geographical boundaries of the country. There are about 8 lakh cooperative societies in the country with more than 29 crore members.
