An investor group led by Elon Musk has offered to buy artificial intelligence (AI) startup OpenAI for $97 billion. However, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has rejected Musk's proposal. Altman also said 'If you want, we can definitely buy Twitter for $9.7 billion.' It is worth noting that Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion in the year 2022 and later changed the name of Twitter to X.

Musk, who had invested in OpenAI at the early stage, also sued the company last year. According to Musk, the company was started as a non-profit research lab for the welfare of the people, but the company betrayed its purpose. Elon Musk had invested about $ 45 million in OpenAI at the early stage. Those who have made offers to buy OpenAI include Elon Musk's AI startup XAI as well as investors like Baron Capital Group, Valar Management, Atreides Management, VY Fund, Emmanuel Capital Management, and Eight Partners VC.
