For the third consecutive year, a record number of Indian students traveled to the United States to pursue higher education. The US Embassy in India gave this information in a release.

According to the Open Doors Report (ODR), the number of international students from India to the United States increased by 35 percent, and as a result, the number reached an all-time high with 2,68,923 students in the academic year 2022-23. India overtook China to become the largest source of international graduate students to the United States for the first time since 2009/10, according to data from the Open Doors report. The number of Indian graduate students increased by 63 percent to 165,936, an increase of about 64,000 students from the previous year, while the number of Indian undergraduate students also increased by 16 percent.
