Now there will be no need to pass a bill in the assembly again and again to increase the salary and allowances of MLAs in Rajasthan. The government has made a provision that like government officials and employees, the salary and allowances of MLAs will automatically increase every year.

The government has not yet officially told how much the increase will be, but the officials of the Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Department have started preparing a proposal to increase it by 10-12 percent.

The officials have talked to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma in this regard. Let us tell you that while responding to the debate on the Finance and Appropriation Bill in the Assembly on Monday, the Chief Minister announced to increase in the salary and allowances of MLAs every year like government officials and employees. Earlier, the previous Congress government had increased the salary and allowances of MLAs by bringing a bill in the year 2021. The pension of former MLAs was also increased.

Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Officers and Members Emoluments and Pension Act, 1956 is in force for MLAs and officials of the Legislative Assembly. Under this law, now the salary, allowances, and pension will automatically increase every year. For this, a bill will be brought to the Assembly once, after that, there will be no need to bring and pass the bill again.
