Mineral Water is very dangerous, according to FSSAI packaged water is a high-risk product
The mineral water or bottled water we drink is very harmful to our health. Actually, FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) has placed it in the category of high-risk product. FSSAI has released a report regarding this. FSSAI has said that now companies will have to get annual inspections done.
We often prefer to take bottled water or mineral water whenever we go out. In our opinion, we think that's pure and clean however, something shocking news is out related to this. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has placed bottled water i.e. mineral water sold in the name of high-risk food category. This means that the water being sold in the name of mineral water is very harmful to our health.
According to the report released by FSSAI, many products do not fall within the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. 'Packaged drinking water and mineral water' also does not fall within the criteria set by the Bureau of Indian Standards. Due to this, it has been included in the 'high-risk food categories'. After this, FSSAI has decided that the inspection of mineral water will be subject to third-party audit parameters. Apart from this, FSSAI said in its report that the regulator has changed the risk-based inspection policy regarding packaged drinking water.
The troubles for the packaged and mineral water manufacturers have increased after the report by FSSAI. Actually, they will now have to undergo risk-based inspection which will happen every year. In late November, FSSAI issued an order that the food products that have been removed from BIS certification will have to undergo an inspection every year for license or registration.
Apart from this, the products that are put into high-risk food categories should have an annual audit, which easily will be done with the help of a third-party auditing agency. Actually, such a decision has been taken to measure the quality of the products and also to improve their quality. According to the report, FSSAI said that the drinking water industry had asked the government to make the rules simple. Actually, at present, the drinking water industry has to receive certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards BIS and FSSAI.
