Meta released an Instagram new update, now you'll be able to reset your feed
Instagram Update: This change is currently in testing and will soon be released for everyone. This will give people control over their feed and it will benefit those whose content does not match their interests.
Instagram, a Meta-owned social media platform has released a new feature with the help of which users will be able to reset their feed or in other words content recommendations. This will reset Instagram's algorithm and users will see new content.
The test is ongoing but will eventually roll out to everyone. This Test gives users control over their feed and benefits users whose content does not fit with the topics they are interested in. Earlier this year, Instagram introduced new privacy controls, which allowed teen users to choose topics they want to see more often, such as books or travel and cooking or sports.
Instagram already gives an option to users through which one can express interest in the videos recommended to users, and also takes into consideration the user activities on the application-like sharing or liking, and presents content on that basis. The resetting of the recommendation algorithm would also let users review which accounts they are following and unfollow them if they want.
"We want to ensure that everyone on Instagram, especially teens, has a safe, positive, and age-appropriate experience and feels that the time spent on Instagram is valuable. We want to give teens new ways to shape their Instagram experience to reflect their changing interests and passions," Meta wrote in its blog post on Tuesday.
