Megastar Chiranjeevi's troubles increased: No distributor wants to buy Megastar's film Godfather, the previous film Acharya had lost crores
Chiranjeevi will soon be seen in the film Godfather. The film was scheduled to release on October 5, however, looking at the current situation, it looks like the film's release will be pushed ahead. The reason for this is that the film has not got distributors yet.
The film is just 3 weeks away from its release, although no distributor is ready to release it. This is a dangerous mark for the megastar and his film. This is the first time in South's megastar Chiranjeevi's career spanning 40 years that his film is struggling to find distributors.
According to a report in Trek Tollywood, one of the major reasons for Godfather not getting a distributor is the failure of Chiranjeevi's previous film Acharya at the box office. Released on 29 April 2022, the film Acharya has produced on a mega-budget of Rs 140 crore, although it did a box office collection of only Rs 74 crore. Both the makers and distributors had to suffer a huge loss from the film. To save the makers from loss, Chiranjeevi had also returned half his fee, but even this could not compensate for the loss.
Producers prepare any film by investing money. After the film is ready, it is sold to the distributors and the distributors take the film to the theatres. Directors cannot release their films in theatres without producers. If the film flops then most of the loss is to the distributors as the cost of the film is already given to the producer.
