MEA: Important discussion on cross-border terrorism between India and Kazakhstan; India alert on the safety of Indians in Israel

MEA: Important discussion on cross-border terrorism between India and Kazakhstan; India alert on the safety of Indians in Israel

An important meeting was held between India and Kazakhstan on terrorism-related challenges, in which the issues of cross-border terrorism in South Asia, state-sponsored terrorism and terrorism in areas other than Afghanistan-Pakistan were also discussed. The Indian Foreign Ministry has given this information by issuing a statement. This meeting took place in Astana, Kazakhstan. From the Indian side, the meeting was led by KD Deval, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs. The Kazakhstani team was led by Talgat Kaliyev, Ambassador of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan. This was the fifth meeting this year between the two countries' joint working group on the issue of terrorism.

The second formal meeting of the State Department was held between India and Luxembourg. This meeting took place in Delhi on Tuesday. In this meeting, along with bilateral relations between the two countries, the mutual benefits of the India-Europe Free Trade Agreement were also discussed. Both countries expressed happiness over the growing economic cooperation between the two countries and also agreed to increase cooperation in areas like finance, steel, space, IT, innovation, startup, manufacturing, health, and renewable energy. Plans to jointly deal with climate change were also discussed between the two countries. From the Indian side, the meeting was led by Pawan Kapoor, Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, and from the Luxembourg side, Jean Olinger, Secretary General of the Foreign Department there.

India's Ambassador to Israel Sanjeev Singla met Israel's Labor Minister Yaav Ben Zur on Wednesday. In this meeting, bilateral relations and the issue of the safety of Indian workers working in Israel were discussed. The first batch of Indian workers has reached Israel under the agreement between the governments of the two countries. The Indian government had appealed to the Israeli government to take the safety of Indian workers seriously. Some time ago, the recruitment of 10 thousand Indian workers to Israel was started at Maharishi Dayanand University located in Rohtak, Haryana. On April 4, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said that 4 thousand Indian workers are present in Israel. The Indian Embassy in Israel is in constant touch with these workers and is alert regarding their safety.
