Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest vehicle manufacturer, has added yet another feather to its cap. Maruti Suzuki WagonR crossed another milestone. This car sold 10 lakh units in a record 5.5 years. At the same time, this car has been topping sales charts for several months now. Its new model came out on 23 January 2019. More than 10 lakh units of this car have been sold since then.

In FY24, it continued to be India's best-selling passenger car for the third consecutive fiscal year, with 2,00,177 units sold. It contributed to 11 percent of Maruti Suzuki's total passenger vehicle sales of 17.5 lakh units. The company has sold an estimated 46,312 Wagon R in the first three months of FY25, which marks a decline of 15 percent from 54,618 units during the same period in April-June 2023. This takes the current model figure to 10,06,413 units while crossing the ten-lakh milestone.

With the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R costlier at Rs 5.54 lakhs, this car comes in front of the consumers with specifications like a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and cloud-based service, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensor, hill-hold assist in AMT, four speakers, mounted controls for steering wheel, semi-digital instrument cluster.

It is now equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol and a 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine powered by DualJet Dual VVT technology. The company says this car runs 25.19 kmpl in its 1.0-liter variant. Meanwhile, its CNG variant goes 34.05 km per kg.
