On Friday night, a Maruti van suddenly caught fire on Kota Road in Kekri city. The van became a ball of fire within a short span of time. Seeing the huge fire, the shopkeepers nearby got scared left their shops, and ran away. During this, there was a long jam on the state highway. Later, the fire was controlled with the help of a fire brigade. Thankfully, there was no loss of life or major accident.

Initially, a little smoke arose and within no time the fire became so fierce that the shopkeepers nearby, seeing this scene, left their shops in fear and ran away. The van was burnt to ashes in no time. The fire brigade reached the spot upon getting the information and extinguished the fire. On getting the information, the policemen also reached the spot and tried to control the traffic and the people.

According to Amar Ujala, this Maruti van belonged to Dashrath Vaishnav, a resident of village Kanaikala, who was bringing his van to show it to the mechanic. This van also had a gas kit. Since this van runs on both petrol and gas kits, he was testing it. For this, he was going to Kota Road to show it to the mechanic. While going to the mechanic, suddenly smoke came out of the van and then the fire broke out in no time. An attempt was made to extinguish it with the water camper available on the spot, but the fire kept increasing and became huge.

Seeing the huge fire, all the nearby shopkeepers fled their shops and ran away. Meanwhile, hundreds of onlookers began to watch the fire away from the burning van. A long jam happens on this busiest road amidst the rush of vehicles. After some time, a fire brigade reached the site and brought the fire under control, but by then the Maruti van had already been reduced to ashes.

It was good fortune that no big accident happened in this incident. The place where this fire broke out, Kota Road is a very busy and crowded area. There are shops of inflammable goods nearby and a petrol pump is also nearby. After the fire broke out there were two mild explosions in this van. Due to this, there was a fear of big mishap. Meanwhile, the onlookers were seen busy in making a reel using their mobile phones. During the incident, people were seen standing in queues by holding mobiles in every direction to make a reel of the burning van and broadcast it on social media. People were found busy time making reels while lining up on the divider in the middle of Ajmer Kota Road.
