Maruti Swift is one of the best-selling hatchbacks across the country and has crossed another milestone. Swift, introduced in 2005, crossed the 30 lakh car sales mark. Since then, it has received many facelifts and generational updates. Let us know how this car crossed this mark and why people like it so much.

It took Maruti Swift almost eight years to achieve its first 10 lakh sales in India. The company sold the next ten lakhs in just five years, which was completed by November 2018. After that, the next ten lakhs have been sold in about six years. With over 65 lakh units sold worldwide, this hatchback car has sold 30 lakh units in India alone.

Maruti Swift was launched back in 2005, costing around Rs.3.87 lakh. A 1.3-liter diesel engine option was made available only in 2007. After which it became even more famous. Since then till now Swift has been one of the best-selling cars in the country. The fourth generation recently, has been launched in India by Maruti Swift. It boasts a new look, better features, and an updated petrol engine. This includes a 9-inch touchscreen, a 6-speaker Arkamys-tuned audio system, and auto AC with rear vents. Moreover, it gets wireless phone charging and cruise control.

This is fitted with six airbags, ESP, and electronic rear parking sensors, while a rear parking camera will enhance driver safety. With a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z series petrol engine fitted, Maruti Swift 2024 shall produce 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of torque. This would come with a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed AMT option. According to the company, this car runs 24 to 25 km per litter. If one speaks of price, the starting ex-factory price of this car comes between Rupees 6.49 lakh and Rupees 9.64 lakh.
