Maruti Suzuki signs deal with Kamarajar Port

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has signed a deal with Kamarajar Port in Tamil Nadu to export its cars to the global market. This deal has been done for five years. To import and export automobile units, the management of Kamarajar Port has developed a car-cum-general cargo berth.
It will be used to export cars to Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, ASEAN, Oceania and SAARC regions. Announcing this on Thursday, India's largest car manufacturer said that it will export 20,000 vehicles annually from this port. This is the company's fourth port in the country for exports. Presently Maruti Suzuki is exporting its vehicles abroad from Mumbai, Mundra and Pipavav ports.
Hisashi Takeuchi, MD & CEO, of Maruti Suzuki, said, "The company is dedicated to its Make in India initiative. Our expanding export operations demonstrate our commitment to manufacturing reliable, high-quality and advanced cars for global customers." He said that the commencement of exports from Kamgar port will help us reach customers across the globe. This will help in reducing the pressure on Mundra, Mumbai and Pipavav ports being used by the company.
Sunil Paliwal, CMD, Kamarajar Port, said, "The association of Maruti Suzuki with the port will help us in expanding our operations. We hope that this deal will be successful and we will be able to contribute to India's economy." He told that there is a parking space for 14 thousand cars at the port. Here the vehicles are thoroughly checked and cleaned before shipping.
Maruti said, "As per the agreement between the two companies, Maruti Suzuki's Grand Vitara, being manufactured at Toyota Kirloskar Motor's Bidadi plant in Karnataka, will be subjected to pre-delivery inspection (PDI) at the port before delivery, after which it will be exported." Will go." Maruti Suzuki has been exporting its cars from India to the world since 1986. In the financial year 2022, the company has exported more than 2.38 lakh cars to 100 countries.
