Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors' vehicle sales rise, Hyundai Motor India's two percent decline
Market: Maruti Suzuki India's Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Partho Banerjee said, there has been an increase in the demand for vehicles from rural areas. The company's rural reach increased by 2.2 percent to 48.7 percent in November.
Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market have increased in November 2024 due to the current wedding season, continued demand in rural areas, and strong attraction towards sports utility vehicles (SUVs). Maruti Suzuki India sold a total of 1,41,312 passenger vehicles last month, which is five percent more than the 1,34,158 units sold in November 2023.
While passenger vehicles, including electric models sold by Tata Motors, jumped 2% year-on-year to 47,063 units. However, domestic passenger vehicle sales at newly listed Hyundai Motor India declined 2% YoY to 48,246 units last month.
While the company's total sales jumped 44% to 25,586 units, JSW MG Motor sold 20% more vehicles. While commenting on the overall growth, Maruti Suzuki India's Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Partho Banerjee said the demand for vehicles from rural areas has been on the rise. Its rural reach increased by 2.2% to 48.7% in November.
At the same time, Hyundai Motor India achieved its highest-ever monthly rural contribution of 22.1% last month. Regarding the urban market, Banerjee further said, we are not seeing the same attraction as in October. Urban customers usually wait for year-end offers in December.
