Despite its promising start, the social media platform is now grappling with several challenges. The report further states that the average time spent by users on both iOS and Android apps has reduced significantly.
According to Sensor Tower, the average daily user count on Threads has dropped by 82%. On average, eight million users are using the app every day. For a few days after launch, Threads had an average of 44 million users per day. According to data from Sensor Tower, the daily average time spent on threads is only 2.9 minutes per day. Also, the number of sessions has come down to 2.6 per day. On the day of launch, threads were viewed for an average of 19 minutes and users opened the app 14 times.
Meta Threads became the fastest-growing app as more than 100 million users were registered in the first five days of its launch. Instagram launched a new app called Meta Threads on 6th July. From Meta, this platform has made a bang as a Twitter rival. The platform had crossed 100 million sign-ups within a week of its launch.
Chief Product Officer Chris Cox said Meta is looking at adding more 'retention-driving hooks' to entice users to return to the app, such as making sure people who are already on the Instagram app can see important threads.
