Man attacked with rod in Golden Temple, 5 devotees injured, one in critical condition
Golden Temple: An unidentified person attacked five devotees with a rod in the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar.

On Friday, an unidentified attacker hit with a rod at the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, Punjab. Five devotees were hurt in the accident. Of the injured, the Sikh youth who is from Bathinda is stated to be in serious condition. He is under treatment at the emergency ward of Sri Guru Ramdas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Amritsar. Both the accused have been arrested by the police and are being questioned.
The police have arrested the accused who attacked the temple complex. But the identity of the accused is yet to be revealed. His accomplice also has been arrested by the police. He also went to the Golden Temple with the accused.
Giving information about this incident, a police officer said that the second accused had allegedly done a recce along with the person who attacked the devotees. According to the police, the attack took place inside the oldest Guru Ramdas Sarai near the community kitchen.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), which manages the Sikh place of worship, said that the accused suddenly used a rod and started attacking the devotees. After this, there was chaos inside the temple. Later the police arrested both the accused. At present, an investigation is being done as to why they attacked and who is behind this.
