Monday saw luxury motorcycle brand Ducati launch its all-new Hypermotard 698 Mono in India. The new Hypermotard 698 Mono was priced at Rs 16,50,000 (ex-showroom India). First Comes only the standard version of this motorcycle. After that, its more sportier RVE model shall come later. The company has commenced the booking process for this model. Its delivery is likely to begin by July-end.

The Hypermotard 698 Mono hard-hitting motor. For this, a liquid-cooled unit working in a 659cc single-cylinder format, called the Superquadro Mono, is claimed as the world's most potent single-cylinder unit. It produces 77.5 bhp of power and 63 Nm of torque. Working in conjunction with it is a 6-speed gearbox mated to a slip-and-assist clutch for smooth motion. And top gear sports riding enthusiasts will appreciate the quick-shifter that comes optional.

The design elements of the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono were taken from another one of its models, which is the Ducati Hypermotard 950. There is an acute LED headlight with a front beak, a slick fuel tank, and an integrated tail section typical of the bigger sibling. The twin exhaust pipes are still there, poking out from underneath the tail, and a signature element about this bike—the Hypermotard.

The Ducati Hypermotard 696 Mono comprises a steel trellis frame fitted to a steel-tube subframe and an aluminum swingarm. Coming to the suspension, there is an adjustable Marzocchi USD fork at the front for precise handling and a Sachs mono-shock at the rear for better control and comfort. Braking performances come from 330mm disc Brembo M4.32 calipers.

This motorcycle comes with triple riding modes for the rider. Cornering ABS is allowed to optimize braking in corners. Based on the riding conditions, four ride modes can be chosen, and you can use a traction control/wheelie control system. Moreover, there's a 3.8-inch LCD instrument cluster for easy monitoring and adjusting.
