British automaker Lotus Cars has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of its Eletre electric SUV. With this launch, the company confirmed that it will bring the Lotus Emirasports car to the Indian market in 2024.

It is the last pure ICE engine model from the brand. The car weighs just 1,405 kg and will be purchased in India via the CBU route and prices are expected to start at Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom).
In terms of design, it takes inspiration from the Evija hypercar. It has vertical LED headlamps with a twin-blade design. It has sharp sculpted lines all around and also has contoured scoops that send air to the engine.
The supercar also gets aerodynamically designed 20-inch alloy wheels and Lotus also offers an optional Lotus Driver's Pack, which includes a hard suspension setup and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
Talking about the interior, the car has a two-seat layout, with sporty bucket seats and lots of Alcantara. It features a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, and more. It also gets a floating center console and flat-bottom steering wheel with a contrast gold insert.
The Emira gets two engine options – a 365 hp, 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG and a larger 3.5-litre, 406hp V6 sourced from Toyota. The Toyota-sourced powertrain is offered with manual and automatic transmissions, while the smaller 2.0-litre gets a DCT gearbox.
