The rescue squad who took part in the tunnel mishap in Telangana have been dealt a significant blow. The tunnel is completely collapsed. There is mud all the way up to the knees. Due to this, entry inside the tunnel is becoming highly inconvenient. The rescue squad is presently engaged in finding other alternatives.

On the other hand, the Indian Army also activated its Engineer Task Force. According to reports, eight persons are trapped in the tunnel. Teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in rescue efforts.

An SDRF official confirmed there is no entry inside the tunnel. It is completely collapsed. It is filled with mud all the way up to the knees. We have to work on other alternatives.

On Saturday morning, a three-meter portion of the under-construction Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapsed in Telangana's Nagarkurnool district. It is being told that the tunnel work was pending for a long time. When it was resumed after a long time, this tragic accident happened just four days later.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister of full assistance from the central government in relief and rescue operations.

The Army said that teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed at the site. An engineer regiment of the Indian Army stationed in Secunderabad was kept on standby.

The team is equipped with a medical contingent from the Army Medical Corps' field ambulance, an ambulance, three high-capacity pumping sets, armored hoses, and other auxiliary equipment. The Chief Secretary of Telangana had requested the Army. After this, the Army immediately activated its Engineer Task Force (ETF).

Mallu Ravi, Congress MP from Nagarkurnool, said that this was an unfortunate accident. The roof of the tunnel collapsed. About 60 people were working. Eight people are trapped. All the rest have managed to escape safely from the tunnel. 145 NDRF and 120 SDRF personnel have come from Hyderabad.

They are engaged in rescue operations. Oxygen is going inside the tunnel. There is water inside. A 100 HP pump is coming to remove it. A big 250 KV generator is also coming. Every possible effort is being made to save the lives of the people trapped inside.
