Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju shared a video on social media playing table tennis with National Champion and Commonwealth Gold Medalist Sreeja Akula on Saturday. In the video, both are seen enjoying during the game.

Hyderabad's Sreeja Akula, the national women's table tennis champion, won her maiden national championship in April last year in Shillong. After this, in August last year, Akula got a chance to participate in the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham. He participated in the mixed doubles event with Sharath Kamal and won the gold medal.
Rijiju attended the Hockey India Awards in Delhi on Friday. India's men's team vice-captain Hardik Singh and women's captain Savita Punia won the top awards for the year 2022. Both won the Balbir Singh Senior Award for Player of the Year in their respective categories, in which both received Rs 25 lakh each. At the same time, PR Sreejesh received the FIH Hockey Men's Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
Before taking over the law ministry, Rijiju was the youth affairs and sports minister in the cabinet. Rijiju took over the ministry from 30 May 2019 to 7 July 2021. Rijiju often meets Indian players.
