Kicked and slapped, the woman wanted to sit next to God as her husband

A video has surfaced of a woman being dragged out of a temple in Bengaluru. The video shows the woman being kicked, slapped and dragged out of the temple. The priest of the temple told the police that the woman was insisting on sitting next to him in the sanctum sanctorum, calling the deity her husband.
In this one-minute 17-second video that is going viral, it is seen that a man first talks to a woman standing near the window, then pulls her hair and takes her to the gate of the temple. When the woman gets up near the gate and comes inside, he slaps her and makes her fall, then drags her out again.
Taking him outside the temple, he beats him again. Despite this, when she gets up and tries to go inside the temple, the priest standing near the gate stops her. Only then that person comes with a stick and chases that woman away.
The incident of assault with a woman in the temple is on 21st December. After whose video went viral, the police swung into action. Police said on Friday that the victim, Hemavathi, had lodged a complaint at Amritahalli police station alleging that she was assaulted by Dharmadarshi Munikrishna of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in the Amritahalli area. The police have registered a case against Munikrishna under section 354 of the IPC.
Temple priest Munikrishna told the police that the woman claimed that Lord Venkateswara was her husband and wanted to sit next to the idol in the sanctum sanctorum. When his insistence was not heeded, he spits on the priest, after which he was asked to leave. When the woman did not agree, she was beaten up and dragged out.
