South Korean carmaker Kia will unveil the production-spec EV5 SUV on August 25 at China's Chengdu Motor Show, which is the automaker's third EV product after the EV6 and full-size EV9 SUV. The SUV was first showcased as a concept earlier this year. Come, let's know about it.

The Kia EV5 will be powered by the modular e-GMP skateboard platform, which also underpins the EV6 and EV9. Meanwhile, Kia has announced that four other electric vehicles will be supported by the modular e-GMP skateboard platform by 2026.

The EV5 is likely to get the same powertrain options as the EV6. It is expected to come with a 75-80kWh battery pack with a maximum range of over 482 km.
