The Kia Carnival MPV is going to make a comeback in the Indian market this festive season. The Korean carmaker has announced that it will introduce two new models on October 3. The upcoming Kia Carnival was showcased as the KA4 during the Auto Expo held in January last year.

The 2024 Kia Carnival is likely to be imported into the Indian market as a CKD. It has been launched in global markets already, and it comes with several updates, including new styling, interior, and a new hybrid powertrain option.

The exterior design of the 4th Gen Carnival MPV has been redesigned to look bolder. The new avatar of the Carnival MPV will feature a new front grille, flanked by thin and vertical LED headlight units on its sides, along with a set of new L-shaped LED DRLs. Apart from these, the MPV comes fitted with updated bumpers and wider air intakes. On the sides are new 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels.

Changes are also visible at the back, where MPV has been linked with LED taillights and a newly designed bumper.

Inside the cabin of this Carnival MPV, there will be two designs: 7-seater and 9-seater variants. It will feature an updated interior by Kia with several new features fitted into the new Carnival MPV, including a dual-screen set-up: a new 12.3-inch infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.

Other than these features, the new Carnival would also get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, Adas, and a rear infotainment screen.

Here, there are 3 kinds of powertrains available for the Kia Carnival MPV. In global markets, it has petrol variant powertrains of 3.5 liters and hybrid set-up powertrains of 1.6 liters, coupled with a diesel variant of 2.2 liters. Of these, a petrol-powered option that comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox is said to generate as much as 287 bhp of power and 352 Nm of maximum torque. Hybrid is a 54 kWh battery version; this can put out an output of 242 bhp, while the peak torque offered by it would be 367 Nm. Besides this, the 2.2-litre diesel engine might also be carried over.

The price of the Carnival MPV in the Indian market went up to Rs 29.65 lakh from Rs 40.60 lakh when it was first launched in the Indian market. With the updated model, it might now start at about Rs 40 lakh.
