The Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which has revolutionized digital transactions in India, handles crores of transactions daily. Its easy payment option shows its popularity and this is the reason why people are using UPI a lot.
But sometimes we make mistakes even in simple things. When it comes to money, you should be double careful. Today we tell you what are the important things you should keep in mind while making UPI payments.
The UPI PIN is required to authorize the transaction. Keep it confidential and do not share it with anyone. When creating a PIN, never create an easily guessable PIN such as your date of birth or sequential numbers.
Always double-check the payee's UPI ID or VPA (Virtual Payment Address) before initiating a transaction. A slight mistake in the payee details can result in money going into the wrong person's account.
You should always be careful about money matters. Therefore, you should not make payments through any app and only install and use official UPI apps provided by registered banks or authorized payment service providers.
Before confirming the transaction, confirm the amount you are going to send. Make sure that this amount is going to the same account where you want to send it.
Beware of phishing messages, emails, or calls that impersonate your bank or payment service provider. Do not click on suspicious links or provide sensitive information in response to unsolicited communications.
Maintain a record of UPI transaction details including transaction ID, date, and amount. It can serve as evidence or reference in case of any discrepancy or dispute.
If your phone has additional security features like app lock, fingerprint, or face authentication for UPI apps, make sure to turn it on.
