Karwa Chauth 2024: Things women should avoid after breaking the fast that can harm their health

The country is celebrating the Karwa Chauth festival today. For Hindus, this fast is extremely important. During this festival, married ladies fast in hopes of their husbands living a long life. Throughout the day, they observe Nirjala fast, and in the evening, they worship with all the customs. Women wait until the moon is visible before breaking this fast. Women break their fast by offering Arghya only after the moon rises, after first observing the moon and then the husband's face.

Before starting the Karwa Chauth fast, some people eat Sargi before 4 a.m. Sargi, however, is not consumed in some places. Women in such a condition do not eat or drink anything before starting this fast. When women break their fast, they often make a mess since they have been hungry and thirsty all day. In such a case, after breaking the fast, some considerations should be made to ensure that it does not harm your health and that you do not become ill. Let's know what things you should keep in mind.

Keep these things in mind while breaking the fast:

  • Avoid overeating after the Karva Chauth fast. This could harm your health. You may encounter difficulties such as acidity and indigestion.
  • After breaking the fast, begin by eating light foods. You can end your fast with fruits, coconut water, or juice.
  • Try to eat extra fiber.
  • Include things in your diet that are easy to digest.
  • Avoid eating oily foods after breaking your fast.
  • Women who are thirsty throughout the day owing to Nirjala Upvaas drink plenty of water when they break their fast in the evening. Avoid consuming a lot of water.
  • Avoid eating outside food. Avoid consuming outside food for 2-3 days since it can be harmful to your health.
