The deceased were residents of Hospet and had gone to visit the Goni Basaveshwara temple at Koolahalli near Harapanahalli town. His identity has not been established yet. The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Hospet. Sources said that the death toll is likely to increase.
According to Vijayanagar SP Srihari Babu, the deceased have been identified as Uma, Kenchavva, Bhagya, Anila, Goni Basappa, Bhimalingappa and Balaka Yuvraj, residents of Hospet City.
Police said, "There were 13 people in the cruiser and the condition of the injured is critical. The injured have been admitted to the government hospital."
