Karnataka Lokayukta raids 48 places, raids on the residence of many government officials including engineers and constables
Karnataka Lokayukta Raid: Lokayukta officials raided 48 places in Karnataka. Raids are being conducted at 48 places including Bidar, Dharwad, Kodagu, Raichur, Davangere, and Chitradurga since Thursday morning. A former Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) engineer in Davangere, a constable in Bidar, and a sub-district magistrate in Kodagu are among those raided by the Lokayukta.
Lokayukta officials are conducting raid and search operations at the residence of government officials across Karnataka on Thursday (August 17). The campaign is allegedly about disproportionate assets. The Lokayukta conducted raids at 48 places across Karnataka while probing allegations of alleged corruption by officials. Since morning, raids are being conducted at 48 places including Bidar, Dharwad, Kodagu, Raichur, Davanagere, and Chitradurga.
A former Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) engineer in Davangere, a constable in Bidar, and a sub-district magistrate in Kodagu are among those raided by the Lokayukta.
Lokayukta officials have also raided the house of a district official in Madikeri district. The search is on in various parts of Mysore city and district. Audit searches are being conducted at the residence of the Harangi Reservoir Superintendent Engineer.
In Kodagu, the Lokayukta has conducted searches at the residence of a District Collector at Priyapattan. Raids are also being conducted at the residence of a Revenue Inspector of Mahadevapura Division in Banashankari, Bengaluru. At the same time, searches are being conducted at the residence of Belgaum Corporation Assistant Commissioner in Dharwad. Officials are checking documents at his residence.
The Lokayukta is probing the allegations of alleged corruption against these officers. These officials are accused of amassing disproportionate assets.
