JLR India broke all sales records in the first half, this car was in highest demand

Jaguar Land Rover India (JLR) has registered record sales of 2,356 units in the country in the first half of 2023, it announced on Thursday. This has been the company's best ever half-yearly sales performance with a growth of 105 percent year-on-year. The company has achieved this position due to its tremendous performance in both quarters. Come, let us know about the complete news.

The extremely strong performance in both quarters can be entirely attributed to the 108% year-on-year growth in retail sales of 1,308 units in Q2. With this, JLR is now pointing to an order book that shows continued growth. The company further said that models like Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender continue to be in strong demand, contributing 72 percent to the total order book. The Defender, in particular, was the best-selling model for the company. Its sales of 1,000 units have been recorded in the first half.

Currently, JLR says its total order book covers more than eight months of sales. JLR India Managing Director Rajan Amba said we are pleased with our strong performance in Q1 and Q2FY24.

He further said that the steady growth in our order book is an example of the growing strength of our brand and products in the hearts of Indian consumers. We will continue to introduce new products that are best suited to cater to the discerning people. Invest in strengthening the needs and desires of our customers, our brand, and our customer experience.

While JLR has reasons to be happy, it remains a far cry from its German rivals in the Indian luxury car sector. For example, Mercedes-Benz India has been extremely aggressive with its product offerings this year with several new and updated launches from the brand.

BMW is also stepping up its efforts and has introduced several new and updated models including an all-electric version of the X1 SUV Audi India is also moving ahead with its electric vehicle (EV) models.
