Jio will launch JioSoundPay service on Republic Day. This feature will be available free of cost on JioBharat phones for lifetime. Actually, JioSoundPay will allow you to get alerts of UPI payments without any sound box. This is the first facility of its kind available on any mobile phone in India. More than 5 crore small entrepreneurs and small traders in the country will get direct benefit from this.

According to the company, JioSoundPay is a groundbreaking innovation. Which will give instant and multilingual audio alert messages of every UPI payment. This will make it easier for even the smallest grocery stores, vegetable vendors, and roadside food vendors to do business. Existing small and big merchants pay around Rs 125 per month for sound boxes. Now with this service being available for free on JioSoundPay, JioBharat phone users will be able to save up to Rs 1,500 annually.

The JioBharat phone was launched about a year ago and is considered the world's most affordable 4G phone, priced at only Rs 699. Thus, any merchant can buy a new JioBharat phone and recover the full cost of the phone in just 6 months. To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Republic of India, Jio has introduced the tune of Vande Mataram with modern music on JioSoundPay.

Jio President Sunil Dutt said, 'Jio believes in leveraging technology to empower every Indian. With the free JioSoundPay feature and soulful rendition of Vande Mataram on JioBharat, we celebrate the spirit of India and reaffirm our commitment to building a true digital India.'

After losing subscribers for four consecutive months, Reliance Jio bounced back and added wireless users in November. While state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) started losing subscribers again after adding subscribers in the previous four months. Other private telcos - Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea - also lost subscribers in November, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Wednesday.
