The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ranking of Test bowlers on Wednesday. Indian vice-captain and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has retained the top spot. Bumrah bowled 151.2 overs in the five-match Test series played against Australia and took 32 wickets at an excellent average of 13.06. He has retained the number 1 spot with 908 rating points. He has become the first Indian bowler to achieve 908 rating points.

Bumrah went past India's legendary spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's all-time Indian rating points record as he achieved 907 rating points in the rankings released last week. Ashwin's best rating was 904, which he achieved in December 2016. Besides Bumrah, spinner Ravindra Jadeja is the second Indian bowler to be in the top 10. Jadeja is in the 9th position with 745 rating points.

Fast bowler Scott Boland, who sent the Indian batsmen on their knees in the Sydney Test, jumped 29 places to reach the top 10 and is jointly placed in the ninth position with Jadeja with 745 rating points. Boland had taken 10 wickets for 86 runs in the Sydney Test.

Australia captain Pat Cummins is in second position with a gain of one place. Cummins has 841 rating points. Meanwhile, South Africa's Kagiso Rabada has also gained one place and reached the third position with 837 rating points. Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood lost two places and has reached the fourth rank with 835 rating points. South Africa's Marco Jansen is in fifth place with 785 rating points.
