Jaipur-Delhi luxury travel becomes cheaper: Rajasthan Roadways reduces the fare of Volvo buses by Rs 150; Decision will come into effect from November 1
Travellers travelling between Jaipur to Delhi have good news. Rajasthan Roadways has reduced the fare of its super luxury buses on this route. About 4 months ago, roadways increased the fare of this bus, but now it has reduced the fare back. However, this fare is Rs 300 more than the fare of a double-decker train operated between Jaipur-Delhi.
Roadways officials said that on the Jaipur-Delhi route, at present the fare for the Volvo bus is Rs 900 per person, which has been reduced by Rs 150 to Rs 750. This fare will be applicable from midnight on 1st November. Earlier in July, the fare was increased by Rs 200. Then the roadways administration argued that after the increase in diesel prices for the last 3-4 months, the operating cost of roadways started coming more on the Delhi route. Due to this, the cost per kilometre of Volvo buses plying on this route has increased by up to Rs.6.
According to experts, the passenger load in Volvo buses was reduced after the roadways fare increased. Due to this, the roadways started facing losses in operation on this route. In view of this loss, the roadways administration has taken this decision.
The railway's double-decker train, which operates daily between Jaipur-Delhi, costs around Rs 460 per passenger. Even after reducing the fare in the Volvo bus of Roadways, it is still Rs 300 more per passenger than the double-decker train. At the same time, the fare of private super luxury buses operating between Jaipur to Delhi is also between 500 to 600 rupees.
