Jaipur commando Mahendra Singh was martyred in the Mumbai boat accident; Part of the most dangerous Navy unit
Rajasthan: On Thursday, the Neelkamal boat going from Gateway of India to Elephanta in Mumbai collided with a Navy ship and sank. Mahendra Singh of Junasiya village of Renwal, Jaipur, also died in the accident. He was a Marcos commando of the Indian Navy.
9 civilians including four Navy soldiers lost their lives in the Mumbai (Maharashtra) boat accident. One of these soldiers was Marcos Navy Commando Mahendra Singh (34), a resident of Jaipur, Rajasthan rural.
According to Patrika, in the boat accident that took place in Mumbai on Thursday, a soldier Mahendra Singh from Jaipur has also been martyred. Mahendra was a Marcos commando in the Navy. A total of 9 civilians including four Navy soldiers lost their lives in the boat accident. The mortal remains of martyred commando Mahendra Singh will arrive by late Thursday night. From here it will be taken to Junasiya in his native village Renwal. His last rites will be performed on Friday.
Marcos commandos are considered to be the most dangerous commandos in India. Regarding yesterday's accident, Renwal (Jaipur) Tehsildar Komal Yadav said that Mahendra Singh, son of Vijay Singh, was a resident of Junsia village in Renwal. He was about to retire from the Navy after two months. He was a Marcos Petty Officer in the Navy.
While going from Gateway of India in Mumbai to Elephanta on December 18 at around 3:55 pm, the Navy ship collided with the Neelkamal boat. After the collision, their boat sank in the sea. 13 people including Mahendra Singh died in the accident.
