Jack Draper beats Jiri Lehecka to reach Qatar Open final 2025
Qatar Open 2025: Draper broke serve again with his second match point and gave himself a chance to win his third career title. Draper said, "I felt I played poorly in the first set. I started to get the lead on his (Lehecka's) serve, made easy catches, and put a lot of pressure behind his serve. As the match progressed, I felt more positive."

British number one Jack Draper advanced to the Qatar Open final following a victory over Czech Republic's Jiri Lehecka with a score of 3-6 7-6 (7-2) 6-3. In a BBC report, on Thursday, Draper defeated former Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini. In the tie-break, he played perfectly and took the game to a winning edge. The loss was such a disappointment to Lehecka that he hurled his racket on the court.
Draper broke serve again with his second match point to give himself a chance to win his third career title. "I felt I played poorly in the first set. I started to get the edge on his (Lehecka's) serve, made easy holds, and put a lot of pressure behind his serve. As the match went on, I felt more positive," Draper said.
Draper, who reached the fourth round in the Australian Open in January, is facing Andrey Rublev in the final. The even-handed game went down to a dramatic tiebreak decider, won on his fourth match point by world No. 10 Rublev. He defeated Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5).
"I feel like I'm playing better and better week after week, I'm improving," Rublev said. Rublev has won the last three matches against Draper. Earlier on Friday, British pair Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash defeated India's Yuki Bhambri and Croatia's Ivan Dodig 7-6 (7-3) 6-3.
