As energetic and conscious public servants it is your duty to respond immediately to the complaints and problems of the common people. You should take innovative measures which are beneficial for the citizens and the country.

President Draupadi Murmu on Friday said that apart from adopting new measures beneficial for the common people, it is the duty of public servants to resolve their grievances. Addressing a group of trainee officers at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Murmu said public feedback on various government schemes and projects is now considered very important for an efficient and accountable administration.

He said that in a time when people can post their complaints instantly on social media, the need to use advanced technology to resolve them has increased manifold. As energetic and conscious public servants it is your duty to respond immediately to the complaints and problems of the common people.

You should take innovative measures which are beneficial for the citizens and the country. The trainee officers are undergoing the 98th Special Foundation Course focused on Good Governance at the Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) in Gurugram.

He said that with the advent of new technology, terms like ‘Electronic Governance, Smart Governance, Effective Governance’, and others have emerged to provide prompt and efficient service. Good governance also symbolizes citizen-centric governance. These days, public feedback about various schemes and projects of the government is considered very important for an efficient and accountable administration.
