ISRO ready to take quantum leap in space successfully tests drogue parachute deployment for Gaganyaan mission
Gaganyaan Mission: The drogue parachute is deployed to decelerate and stabilize fast-moving objects. ISRO said that Thiruvananthapuram-based Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) successfully conducted a series of drogue parachute tests at the Rail Tracked Rocket Sled (RTRS) facility of the Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratory in Chandigarh between August 8-10.
ISRO is preparing vigorously for its ambitious project Gaganyaan mission. ISRO has achieved an important milestone related to this mission. ISRO successfully conducted a series of tests for the drogue parachute.
These tests will play an important role in stabilizing the crew module and reducing its velocity to safe levels during re-entry into the Gaganyaan human space flight mission. Explain that under the Gaganyaan mission, astronauts will be safely taken to space and brought back.
According to information, drogue parachutes are employed to reduce speed and stabilize fast-moving objects.
Explain that drogue parachutes, packaged inside pyro-based devices known as mortars, are optimally designed to launch parachutes into the air on command. The test was conducted in collaboration with the Air Delivery Research and Development Establishment (ADRDE) and DRDO.
ISRO has told that the Gaganyaan mission will be launched soon. He had said that its first mission would be unmanned. A robot will be sent in the second mission and three astronauts (astronauts) will be sent to space in the last mission.
The ISRO chief told that the second mission will be launched next year i.e. in 2024. If we succeed in this, history will be made.
