The terrorist attack on Ugandan school: Islamic State-linked terrorists attacked a school in western Uganda near the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. 25 people died in this terrorist attack. The Uganda Police gave this information on Saturday.
Police said members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a Ugandan group based in eastern Congo, attacked the Lubirira Secondary School in Mpondwe late on 16 June. Apart from this, the hostel was set on fire, and food was also looted. Giving this information on Twitter, the Uganda Police said that so far 25 bodies have been recovered from the school and sent to Bawera Hospital. Eight victims remain in critical condition at Bawera Hospital.
Police did not say how many schoolchildren were among the dead. Police said the soldiers were chasing the assailants who fled towards Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In April, the ADF attacked a village in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, killing at least 20 people. Uganda has sent troops to the Congo to help fight the ADF.
