Pavel Durov, CEO of instant messaging app Telegram, which claims better privacy and security, has recently been arrested. After Pavel's arrest in Paris, it is said that the Indian government is also going to start an investigation against Telegram.

According to Amar Ujala, Telegram is being used the most in scams, fraud, and criminal activities, including extortion and gambling, etc. It is being said that if Telegram is found guilty then it can be banned in India, however before that it is being claimed on social media that Telegram has been banned in India and soon it will be removed from the Play Store. Telegram has about 55 lakh users in India.

Telegram has not yet been officially banned in India, but if it is found guilty in the investigation, then it will definitely be banned. The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), an agency working under the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, can start an investigation against Telegram in India.

Most scams and privacy happen on Telegram. In India, it is being used for the privacy of films, web series, and OTT content. Apart from this, Telegram's name is included in all the online scams that are happening.
