Irshad Kamil receives Pushkin Prize: Lyricist will be honoured in Russia, will leave for Moscow on November 3
Lyricist Irshad Kamil has been awarded the Pushkin Prize in Russia. Irshad has left for Russia to receive the award. Irshad Kamil is the first Indian lyrics writer to win the Pushkin Piece. Earlier, no Indian lyricist has been honoured with this award.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Irshad expressed happiness and said- 'I am honoured to have won the title. Being the first lyricist to be honoured with this honour, I hope I have made all Indians feel honoured. In further conversation, Irshad told that he will leave for Moscow on 3 November, while on 7 November he will be honoured with the award in Moscow.
Let us tell you that before Irshad, many Indian writers have been awarded the Pushkin Prize. In which the names of famous writers like Uday Prakash and Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari are included. However, no Indian lyricist had received this honour before. During a conversation with the media, Irshad said – India and Russia have been friends of each other for a long time. There are good relations between the two countries, due to which the language difference has reduced. I have always read Russian writers, I love the works of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Maxim Gorky and Rasul Hamzatov.
