Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who are the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 defending champions, celebrated Holi at the hotel. Players and support staff preferred to forego the pre-season preparations for the time being and become part of the traditional Holi. All the players celebrated the festival of colors with each other.

Surrounded by a shower of colors, KKR players like Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were having fun applying colors to each other. Head coach Chandrakant Pandit and the coaching staff were also in attendance at the function. Kolkata Knight Riders will begin their IPL 2025 journey against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22 at the iconic Eden Gardens.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) kicked off their pre-tournament camp with a puja ceremony at the Eden Gardens pitch on Wednesday. KKR has appointed veteran Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane as their new captain for the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The three-time IPL-winning side has named all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer as their vice-captain.

Rahane, the senior-most Indian player in the KKR squad, will now replace Shreyas Iyer, who led the franchise in IPL 2024 in Chennai. However, the franchise did not retain Iyer and he will now captain Punjab Kings in IPL 2025. The coaching staff and players, led by head coach Chandrakant Pandit, attended the ceremony before beginning cricketing activities at the historic cricket venue. Captain Ajinkya Rahane and Eden Gardens pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee performed the rituals for another successful IPL campaign for the cricketing world.
