IPL 2024: On the strength of Mustafizur and Rachin, CSK defeated RCB by 6 wickets, two matches will be held today

The first match of IPL 2024 was played between CSK and RCB at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, RCB captain Faf Du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first and based on Anuj Rawat's brilliant innings, scored 173 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Mustafizur Rahman took 4 wickets. In reply, CSK achieved the target at the loss of 4 wickets in 18.4 overs. Shivam Dubey returned to the pavilion unbeaten after scoring 34 and Ravindra Jadeja scored 25 runs.

RCB got a good start after winning the toss and opting to bat first. RCB had scored 41 runs in 4.2 overs without losing any wickets. After this, Mustafizur Rahman gave two blows to RCB at the score of 41 and pushed them on the back foot. RCB was struggling at 78 runs for 5 wickets. After this, Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik took charge and took the team beyond 170. There was a partnership of 95 runs in 57 balls between the two for the sixth wicket. Dinesh Karthik returned unbeaten to the pavilion after scoring 38 runs in 26 balls, while Anuj Rawat amassed 48 runs in 25 balls with the aid of four fours and three sixes.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain, and opener Rachin Ravindra gave CSK a terrific start in their pursuit of RCB's 174 runs. The two shared a partnership of 38 runs in 24 balls. Ajinkya Rahane scored 27 runs in 19 balls during an inning that followed Gaikwad's dismissal at 15 runs. With a score of 71, Rachin Ravindra (37), dealt CSK their second blow. Then, with a score of 99, Cameron Green took advantage of Rahane. Shivam Dubey, who came to play after Rahane, made an unbeaten 66-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja on 37 balls to give the team its first win of IPL 2024.

The first doubleheader under IPL 2024 will take place today March 23. Today the first match will be played between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at Maharaja Yadvinder Singh Stadium, Chandigarh from 3.30 pm. Whereas, the second match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from 7.30 pm.
