In September 2014, PM Narendra Modi announced June 21 as International Yoda Day in his UN address, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and many parts of the world. This year, we mark the 10th anniversary of this day on the theme of 'Yoga for Self and Society'. 

This day aims to promote peace and the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of an individual. On this auspicious day, people came forward on social media and shared the importance of yoga. "It is India's gift to the world,"  says the British Deputy High Commissioner. 

PM Narendra Modi celebrated this day in Srinagar and urged everyone to make yoga a part of their lives. He also stated that yoga tourism is creating new avenues for employment. Every year, millions of people around the world come together from Leh to New York, the Army, the Navy,, and the Bollywood industry and celebrate this day to make people aware of the role of yoga in everyone's life. 

President Droupadi Murmu also shared photos on Twitter and quoted Yoga as India's unique gift to humanity. Likewise, from every corner of the world, people shared their experience and the importance of yoga for a good, healthy, and long life.
