Instead of reducing the prices of new iPhones, Apple gives huge discounts on old models, know why the company is doing this
Apple launched its latest iPhone series i.e. iPhone 15 on September 12. This series includes 4 devices. The company has launched its new device for pre-order from September 15. Like every year, as soon as the new iPhone is launched, the company has reduced the price of the old models significantly. Let us find out why the company does this.
This week Apple has launched its much-awaited iPhone 15 series. It is being told that the devices of this series are being assembled in India. In such a situation, if the iPhone is being assembled locally, it would not be wrong for customers to expect that these devices will be available at lower prices. But instead of doing this, the company is offering huge discounts on older models.
Talking about the prices, the company has kept the price of its basic iPhone 15 at Rs 79,900. Whereas the price of a 1 terabyte (TB) version of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is going up to Rs 1,99,900. Let us tell you that there is not much change in the price of the company's original model, its price matches that of the iPhone 14 to a great extent.
However, when the company launched the iPhone 14, it increased the prices of the Pro models. Due to this, most of the people's expectations were dashed.
There will be no reduction in prices:
1. Navkendar Singh, Associate Vice President, IDC India, said that it is wrong for us to believe that assembling in India will mean the iPhone will be cheaper.
2. Even though Apple might be saving money by assembling non-Pro models in India, Apple is not known for reducing the price of its newly launched models.
3. Instead the company will invest in marketing, supply chain, and other methods. More importantly, the company will bring aggressive pricing offers for the previous generation iPhone models.
The bulk of the company's sales come from previous models. This happens because whenever the company launches a new iPhone, the prices of older models are reduced. This greatly reduces the price of the iPhone in India, due to which the company ships around 145-150 million smartphones every year. ,
This has shown that with the launch of the new iPhone, the company also gets a lot of profit from the sales of old phones. For this reason, instead of reducing the price of new phones, the company reduces the price of old phones.
The company has said that iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models will be offered for pre-order from September 15. These devices will go on sale on September 22.
