INSPACe to develop training programs for skills in space sector, gets recognition from NCVET
INSPACe: This recognition allows INSPACe to provide specialized training programs in critical areas of space technology. These include satellite manufacturing, space technology in agriculture, mission design, avionics development for launch vehicles and orbital mechanics, attitude dynamics, and navigation.
The National Council of Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) has recognized India's space regulator as an awarding and assessing body, which is an important step for skill development in the space sector. With this recognition, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (INSPACe) will get the right to award NCVET certificates to trainees who meet the qualifications approved by NCVET.
Thus, the recognition enables IN-SPACe to hold specially worked-out training programs in certain critical areas like satellite manufacturing, space technology in agriculture, mission design and avionics development of launch vehicles, and orbital mechanics-attitude dynamics, navigation, etc.
The recognition would thus allow the INSPACe to develop training programs in enhancing propulsion systems for space missions, space data products, and services, an Inspace statement said.
Inspace Promotion Directorate Director Vinod Kumar said, "This recognition is an important step in building a skilled talent pool for India's growing space sector. We will enhance our training programmes keeping in mind the demands of the space industry and provide better knowledge and skills to meet the country's ambitions."
NCVET under the Ministry of Skill Development acts as an overarching national regulator, aimed at setting standards, developing comprehensive regulations, and improving the vocational education, training, and skills ecosystem.
