An Indigo plane touched the runway during landing at Ahmedabad airport and flew back in the air. Passengers sitting in the plane got scared due to the sudden takeoff. A passenger present in the plane said that it had put the lives of more than 100 passengers in danger.
The incident took place on Monday night at 8.45 pm. Indigo flight number 6E 6056 was coming from Chandigarh to Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabh Bhai Airport. It was supposed to land on the runway at 9.15, but at 8.45 the plane started landing on the runway. The passenger told that as soon as the wheels of the plane touched the ground, the pilot took off the plane back. No one understood why this happened. The plane finally landed after circling in the air for 20 minutes.
Tejas Joshi, another passenger aboard the plane, tweeted about the incident. He said, 'Today the flight from Chandigarh to Ahmedabad (6E 6056) could not land at Ahmedabad airport. The plane reached the runway and then took off. This scared the passengers.
According to media reports, the position of the flight was not correct at the time of the first landing. Therefore, the air traffic controller of the airport asked the pilot to immediately take off the plane and land it back properly. No passenger was hurt during this.
Another passenger Dr. Neil Thakkar complained to Indigo, DGCA, and Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday regarding this incident. Thakkar has told in the complaint mail that he had spoken to the pilot about this after landing. Pilot Jagdeep Singh said it was a routine communication matter and the airline had not taken clearance from ATC before landing. On this, Thakkar said why the plane tried to land without the permission of ATC.
