Paris Paralympics 2024: After the conclusion of the Olympics, now Paris will host the Paralympic Games from August 28. This time India is sending its largest contingent to the Paralympic Games to be held from August 28 to September 8.

The action now shifts to Paris, which is all geared up to host the Paralympic Games from August 28. This time, India would be sending its biggest-ever delegation of athletes to the Paralympic Games scheduled between August 28 and September 8 in Paris. An 84-member team in 12 sports would be sent by India to the Paris Paralympic Games, according to Paralympic Committee of India President Devendra Jhajharia on Tuesday. Jhajharia has expressed hope that this series of excellent performances in Tokyo Paralympics shall continue in Paris also. He said, "We have won 19 medals in the Tokyo games, but our aim has been this time to win 25 medals.".

Two-time Paralympic champion Jhajharia opined that Amit Saroha happens to be the most experienced amongst the Indian team, and Sheetal Devi turned out to be the youngest. While discus thrower Amit is going to participate in his fourth Olympics, 17-year-old Sheetal hailing from Jammu and Kashmir is going to claim a medal in archery. Sheetal won two gold and one silver medal in the Para Asian Games 2022.

10 athletes from Rajasthan to bag medals in the Paris Paralympic Games Avni Lekhara, Mona Agarwal, Nihal Singh, Rudraksh Khandelwal, and Amir Ahmed Bhat will challenge in para shooting. On the other hand, Sundar Gurjar and Sandeep Chaudhary are to take part in athletics. Anita Chaudhary will participate in rowing. Shyamsundar will be seen in archery and Krishna Nagar in badminton. Krishna is a defending champion and he will defend his title in his category.

Dronacharya Award-winning athletics coach Mahavir Prasad Saini said that the preparations of our athletes are complete. Last time, para players of Rajasthan won five medals, this time this number is expected to increase.
