Imports have also decreased in September. According to the data, imports last month fell by 15 percent to US $ 53.84 billion as against US $ 63.37 billion in the same period a year ago.

In the current financial year so far, i.e. from April to September, exports have declined by 8.77 percent to US $ 211.4 billion. Whereas during the same period, imports fell by 12.23 percent to US $ 326.98 billion.
