India's glory in Forbes Global 2000 list, Reliance overtakes companies like BMW and Nestle

Forbes, which prepares a list of 2000 companies every year, has released its latest list for the year 2023. In this list, Reliance has hoisted India's flag by defeating well-known companies BMW, Nestle, Sony, and Alibaba.

The latest list of Forbes Global 2000 has come out. In this list, once again India's flag is flying.
Billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited has improved eight places to rank 45 on the list of public companies worldwide. This position is the highest for any Indian company.
Releasing the ranking of the world's top 2,000 companies for the year 2023, Forbes said that the Global 2000 companies rank the world's largest companies based on four metrics sales, profits, assets, and market value.
With US$3.7 trillion in assets, America's largest bank, JPMorgan, topped the Forbes 2000 list. Amidst bank collapses in the US, JPMorgan has emerged stronger with higher deposits and opportunistic acquisition of the bankrupt First Republic Bank.
Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway, which topped the list last year, is now ranked 338th in the new list.
Saudi oil giant 'Aramco' is at number two on the Forbes 2000 list. Apart from this, tech giants Alphabet at 7th and Apple at 10th place.
Oil-to-telecom conglomerate Reliance is the highest-ranked Indian company at 45th position, with sales of US$109.43 billion and profit of US$8.3 billion. Reliance was in 53rd position in last year's ranking.
Reliance has beaten well-known companies such as Germany's BMW Group, Switzerland's Nestle, China's Alibaba Group, US-based Procter & Gamble, and Japan's Sony in the new Forbes list.
State Bank of India is ranked 77th (105th in 2022), HDFC Bank is ranked 128th (153rd in 2022) and ICICI Bank is ranked 163rd (204th in 2022).
Apart from this, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation is at 226th and HDFC at 232nd, Life Insurance Corporation at 363rd, and Tata Consultancy Services at 387th. Overall, India has a total of 55 companies on this list.
Let us tell you that three out of 10 Adani Group companies have found a place in the Forbes 2000 list. Adani Enterprises at 1062, Adani Power at 1488, and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone at 1598.
