After IPL, now Premier Handball League (PHL) started in Jaipur. Today the first match of the league was played between Rajasthan Patriots and Maharashtra Ironman in the indoor hall of SMS Stadium. In which Rajasthan Patriots defeated Maharashtra Ironmen by 28-27. In the second match of the league, Telugu Talons faced proud Gujarat. In Telugu Talons won a resounding victory over proud Gujarat.
However, sports lovers did not show interest in the Premier Handball League and the chairs were seen empty in the stadium on the very first day of the league. At the same time, the spectators who came to watch the match also had to suffer in the heat of the indoor stadium due to the malfunctioning of the AC.
The tip-off was won by Rajasthan Patriots and with this, they started working on their strategy to create early pressure on Maharashtra Ironmen. Hardev Singh of the Patriots became the first scorer in the league in the third minute of the game. Till the last minute, the score was tied at 27-27. Patriots' Mohit Ghanghas, however, scored a last-minute penalty to give them victory in their first match of the PHL. The final score of the first match was 28-27 in favor of Rajasthan. Mohit Ghanghas and Sahil Malik emerged as the top scorers for Rajasthan Patriots with 5 goals each while Jalal Kiyani and Igor Chiselyov emerged as the top scorers for Maharashtra Ironmen with 7 goals each. Mohit Ghanghas was declared player of the match for his dynamic and inspirational performance. Mohit scored the winning goal for the Rajasthan team this time when the score was tied.
