Indian student murdered in America: 24-year-old Saish Veera, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, shot dead by an assailant 10 days before post-graduation
An Indian student was shot dead in Ohio, USA. In this case, the police are looking for the accused. At present, the reason for the attack has not been revealed. Police say that this case may be related to theft.
Saish Veera, 24, a resident of Eluru in Andhra Pradesh, used to work at a gas station along with studies. This is where he was shot. Saish came to America in November 2021. His post-graduation was about to be completed after 10 days.
Police said the incident took place on April 20 in the city of Columbus, Ohio. An officer said- We got the news at 12:50 pm (according to local time) that there was a shooting at a gas station. When he reached the spot, he saw that a 24-year-old Indian had fallen on the ground. He was seriously injured. There were bullet marks on his body. He was immediately taken to the hospital. But after half an hour at around 1:27, he died.
Police said that the assailant shot and fled. The police officer said – We are looking for the accused. We are looking for him on the basis of the CCTV camera footage installed at the spot. At present, we do not have any information about him. But we think he may be a suspect in a recent burglary. Or it may be that this attack took place due to a mutual dispute. We can't say anything. The entire matter is being investigated. The police have also released a picture of the accused.
Saish Veera went to America to study IT. The government had issued him an H-1B visa. It is usually issued to those people who are associated with a particular profession (like IT professional, architecture, health professional etc.). Professionals who get job offers or are selected for studies in the US are given this visa only then.
