Global advertising and public relations agency Ogilvy has appointed India-born Devika Bulchandani as its Global Chief Executive Officer. "Bulchandani will succeed Andy Main, who is stepping down as Global CEO and will serve as a Senior Advisor until the end of the year," the company said in a statement. Bulchandani is currently serving as the Global President and CEO of Ogilvy North America.
In her new role, she will oversee the work of 131 offices in 93 countries. Ogilvy Leading Marketing and Communication Group is part of WPP. The company said it would also join the executive committee of WPP. WPP CEO Mark Reid said, "Devika is a champion of creativity." He added that his love for the industry, deep understanding of customer needs and track record of delivering growth for agencies and brands is good.
This makes him the perfect choice to lead Ogilvy to even greater success. Born in Amritsar, Bulchandani did her Masters from the University of Southern California. Served 26 years in various leadership roles at McCann, a North American advertising agency. She has also been the President of the company. He is popularly known as Dev in the industry.
He was the driving force behind Mastercard's long-running "Priceless" campaign as well as "True Name", a feature launched in 2019.
She also helped launch "Fearless Girl", a symbol of women's equality. It was a campaign that became one of the most respected campaigns in the history of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
Last week, coffee giant Starbucks appointed Laxman Narasimhan as its chief executive. The list includes Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narain, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Twitter head Parag Agarwal, Chanel's Leena Nair and IBM Group CEO, Arvind Krishna.
