A traditional armed forces decommissioning ceremony was held at the Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) jetty in Goa on Wednesday. Many honorable guests were present on this occasion. Earlier on 4 November, Indian Coast Guard Ship Samar was decommissioned with full honors at the Indian Coast Guard Jetty at Kochi.
Indian Coast Guard Ship Sangram was decommissioned with full honors in a traditional armed forces ceremony held at Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) jetty, Goa on Wednesday. Inspector General AK Harbola, TM Commander Coast Guard Area (North West), was the chief guest, and DIG K Balasubramaniam, TM (Retd), was the guest of honor at the function.
Indian Coast Guard said in a post on (Retd.) were present.
The chief guest of the function was Additional Director General S. Paramesh, PTM, TM, in the presence of special guest DG Dr. P Paleri, PTM, TM (Retd.).
The ship was commissioned at Goa on 14 February 1996 by the then Prime Minister of India PV Narasimha Rao and was based at Mumbai under the operational command of Commander Coast Guard Area (West). Furthermore, according to a press release from the Indian Coast Guard, the ship was refloated in Kochi in 2009.
